Samantha Brown of Morrilton, Ark., and Douglas Howard of Perryville, Ark., have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Tracy and Kerri Brown of Oppelo, Ark., and Bobby and Michelle Childres of Vilonia. She is the granddaughter of Sam and Jan Higdon of Guy, Bill and Carolyn Hobbs of Estill Springs, Tenn., and the late Tommy Brown of Prim, Ark., and the late Linda Brown of Conway.

She is a 2009 honor graduate of Vilonia High School, and is currently attending Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, where she was named to the Dean’s List.

She is currently employed at Rohlman Animal Hospital in Morrilton.

The prospective groom is the son of Perry and Sharon Howard of Lonsdale, Ark., and Joni Dellinger of Haughton, La. He is the grandson of Bill and Sue Howard of Lonsdale, the late Jennings Cleveland (J.C.) and the late Patricia Dellinger, both of Haughton, La.

He is a 2006 graduate of Perryville High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton.

He is currently employed as a millwright at Southern Chips Inc.

The wedding is set to take place at 6 p.m. on March 16, 2013, at The Rock.
