MORRILTON (AP) — An Arkansas woman who drove into a lake during a late night thunderstorm, killing her three children, has pleaded guilty to three felony counts of child endangerment.
Amber Turley, a 27-year-old woman from entered the revised plea Tuesday in Conway County court and was sentenced to three two-year prison sentences, which will run concurrently. She also will serve four years of probation.
Prosecutors have said Turley smoked marijuana at a party before driving home in the early morning hours of April 19. She apparently became disoriented, missed a turn and drove into Brewer Lake.
Turley, of Plumerville, told investigators she tried but failed to save her three sons, who ranged in age from 2 to 8 years old.
