Songs of faith, songs of spirit, songs of fun. Come hear the Conway Men’s Chorus present their 16th annual Spring Sing concert with a wide variety of choral music. The concert will be at Reynolds Performance Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, with free admission and parking. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Sam Huskey, the 55-plus voice group will be presenting its 16th spring concert since organizing in 1998. Assistant Directors for this concert are Jordan Bennett and Dr. Greg Murry with piano accompanist, Paul Bradley. Participation requirements are simply a love of singing and a desire to give the gift of music back to the community. The chorus — composed of men of all ages and all musical abilities and knowledge — presents an annual Christmas Holiday concert and a Spring Pops concert as their music season.
Selections by the Chorus this spring will include "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’" (from "Oklahoma!"), the ever-popular "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," the hauntingly beautiful "Navy Hymn," the intriguing "Theme from the Pink Panther," the traditional "Irish Blessing," inspiring "He Never Failed Me Yet," "Swingin’ With the Saints," "Rise Up, O Men of God," and "Sing A Song of Peace," plus more.
Opening for the group on that evening will be Conway’s own rock ‘n’ roll band, Yesteryear.
