Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre preview performance at the library

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre will give a preview performance of scenes from The Two Gentlemen of Verona at 7 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the Faulkner County Library. The evening’s events also include original songs by Jordan Coughtry, who wrote the music for the production. Jordan’s theater credits include Jane Austen’s EMMA, The Philadelphia Story and Macbeth among many others. He lives in New York and is married to Conway’s Nisi Sturgis, also a successful actor.

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is the only professional Shakespeare Theatre in Arkansas, and makes its home on the UCA campus. Each year it produces a selection of the Bard’s plays, along with other productions, in its summer festival in Conway. Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, which has been featured in the New York Times, is also a major educational force in Arkansas.
