Friends of the Faulkner County Library are asking for donations of new or gently used books for children for the 18th annual Book Worm Christmas Project. Books will be collected until Dec. 15 at all county elementary schools and libraries.

For 17 years, children and adults have collected books to give to the children of families who receive food baskets from CAPCA at Christmas time. Friends of the Libraries explain that love of reading and learning are more likely to happen when children have books of their own at home. A parent is more likely to read to a young child when the home has a variety of books for children.

Those who donate are asked to bring books to the public libraries in Conway, Greenbrier, Mayflower, Mount Vernon, Twin Groves and Vilonia for donation Dec. 17. All books go to Faulkner County children.

For more information or for large collections to donate, call Ruth at 327-7482.
