Dazzle Daze continued to draw a crowd Friday, with organizers reporting an unprecedented number of attendants on the second day of the three-day holiday shopping event.
According to Jayme Jeane, co-chair of the event, some 500 shoppers entered the door within the first hour Friday morning.
"I can’t remember ever having a Friday like this," Jeane said. "We had 500 shoppers this morning in the first hour and the line was forever."
Jeane said that by 4 p.m. Friday, more than 1,200 shoppers had visited the Conway Expo Center.
"There has just been a steady crowd," Jeane said. "It’s been fantastic."
Jeane said that as of Friday afternoon, less than 100 of 500 total raffle tickets were still available for purchase in the drawing for a black 2010 Ford Mustang.
"I would say that if people want those, they should get them now and not wait until the end of the event," Jeane said.
Organizers are expecting the record-breaking numbers to continue to rise through the last day of the event.
Doors will open to the public at 10 a.m. today, and the event will culminate in the raffle drawing at 4 p.m.
Adding to the excitement of 96 vendors and a variety of merchandise, Santa Claus will be on-hand to hear the Christmas wishes of young and old alike. Portraits with Santa will be available for purchase as well.
Several decor demonstrations will be presented; area children’s choirs are slated to perform throughout the day, and an exhibit from Sonshine Academy is scheduled.
Admission is $5, and all proceeds benefit the Conway Regional Foundation.
