The Farmers Market, a downtown event for the last few years, is moving for the summer, with the opening day set for May 11 in the parking lot of Antioch Baptist Church, 150 Amity Road.

Kami Marsh, Faulkner County Extension Agent, said the Downtown location has been a good one.

"The city has been great to us these years, and we hope to move back Downtown. but because the District Courthouse (Judge Russell L. "Jack" Roberts District Court Building) is busy four days a week, there has been a lot of competition for parking," Marsh said.

To begin the season, the market will be open Saturdays only, 6:30 a.m. to noon, through June 4, when it will move to three days a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

It will go back to Saturdays only when school starts, Aug. 17, and end on Nov. 2, when the fall produce is all gone.
