Kids Play Properties has requested a rezoning and conditional use permit at the property at 2725 College Avenue.
The rezoning request would change the parcel from R-2, small lot duplex, to RU-1, restricted use.
The conditional use permit would allow general retail, indoor commercial amusement and a veterinarian clinic at the location.
The property was granted a conditional use permit in March 2011 to allow the residential structure to be used as a restricted office. The applicant would now like to construct an indoor play facility, as well as a coffee shop with a drive through and a vets clinic.
The coffee shop would be allowed under "general retail." The vets clinic and the play facility would be covered under the conditional use permit.
Staff has recommended approval for both the rezoning and the conditional use permit with conditions.
Conditions staff suggested for the conditional use permit include defining hours of operation, allowing general retail, requiring a 6-foot high privacy fence along the south and east boarders, prohibiting overnight exterior animal boarding and exterior kennel areas, requiring screening evergreen trees along the south property line, limiting the indoor recreational facility to a children’s play facility and repealing the previous conditional use permit.
The Conway Planning Commission will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the district court building, 810 Parkway.
In addition to the 2725 College Avenue parcel, the commission will be discussing rezoning at 1370 Sturgis Road, rezoning at 5015 Tyler Street and rezoning at 192 Commerce Road.
