Police responded to the Walmart on Skyline Drive on Friday in reference to a man who was beating on a truck and urinating in the parking lot, according to the police report.
The officer made contact with the man fitting the description banging on the door to an 18-wheeler. The officer reported he could smell “a moderate odor of intoxicating beverage coming from his person.”
The man told the officer he was stuck in Conway and may be a little drunk. He said he had been at “The Draft” and the “Bears Den,” two establishments that serve alcoholic beverages. He also stated he worked at the Van Buren County Jail.
The driver of the truck told the officer that the man was banging on his truck even when he asked him to leave. At that point the man urinated on the ground.
The officer placed the man into custody for public intoxication. He became agitated with the booking officers and was put into a holding cell.
