The Conway Planning Commission unanimously approved both the rezoning and conditional use permit requests for Kids Play Properties at 2725 College Avenue.

Kids Play Properties plans to put in an indoor kids clubhouse, coffee shop and small animal vet clinic at the property.

The indoor play area is the same plan that came before the planning commission earlier, but the location has changed.

Several commissioners said they liked the plan in the first place and this was a better location for it than the earlier proposal in the Scherman Heights area.

"I was disappointed you didn’t get it last time," Commissioner Bill Yates said.

The conditions established under the conditional use permit include a required six foot privacy fence along the east border, no exterior kennels, no outdoor overnight boarding of animals, evergreen trees for screening required, indoor activities only for the children’s play facility, bringing the existing ditch to city standards, no outdoor sound system and the abolishment of the previous conditional use permit on that property.

The hours of operation must be between 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the veterinary clinic, 9 a.m.  to 9 p.m. for the children’s clubhouse and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for the coffee shop.
