1:05 update: Man is 28 years old and was unharmed.
12:55 update: Man is out of house and is currently being checked by EMTS.
12:50 update: Gunshot sounds were flashbangs, non-lethal explosive devices used to temporarily disorient the senses.
12:35 update: A Log Cabin Democrat reporter at the scene says another shot was fired after the SWAT team geared up with shields and approached the side of the house. Following the shot, the team returned to their post.
12:28 p.m. update: A Log Cabin Democrat reporter at the scene says multiple shots were just fired by the SWAT team.
The reporter said he saw the SWAT team raise their weapons and walk to the side of the house where the man had barricaded himself.
He said the SWAT team came back around the house, and members have removed their helmets.
12:15 p.m. update: Officials at the scene say it is unknown whether the man is actually in possession of a firearm, though it is believed he could have access to one. As a precaution, homes surrounding the residence have been evacuated.
Conway Police are responding to a residence at Kensington and Sedgefield Drive in west Conway, where a man has reportedly barricaded himself inside of the home following threats to commit suicide.
LaTresha Woodruff, public information officer for the department, said she has been on the scene approximately a half hour and it is believed the man is alone inside of the home.
The Log Cabin received unconfirmed reports that the department's SWAT team and bomb squad are at the home.
Officials did not explain why those two entities were at the location, but said it is possibly "procedure."
