A 28-year-old man was removed from a west Conway home about three and a half hours after barricading himself inside following reported threats of suicide.
Officials with the Conway police department, including the SWAT team, bomb squad members and members of the Conway Fire Department responded to the home at Kensington and Sedgefield Drive, located off of Country Club Lane.
The man was the only one inside of the home at the time.
Homes surrounding the residence were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
LaTresha Woodruff, public information officer with the department, said SWAT team members fired pepper spray into the residence several times, and the man eventually emerged.
It is unclear whether the man was in possession of a firearm, but officials said they had reason to believe he may have had access to one.
The man was checked by emergency personnel at the scene and was determined to be unharmed. No officers were injured in the incident.
"We never thought that anyone was in danger," Woodruff said.
Officials have not confirmed whether the man has been charged in the incident and the identity of the man is currently unknown.
