According to the Arkansas Realtors Association, Faulkner County homes sales grew by 24 percent in July from the year before. The group released its report Tuesday.

The trend locally is greater than the state's growth from 2012, which still grew by 19 percent. Faulkner County experienced the second highest growth behind Benton County.

The report said 2,594 home changed hands in July, up from 2,178 homes during the same month last year. The report also said the average price of homes sold reached $166,348 in July, up more than 1 percent from $163,655 in July last year.

Faulkner County sold 128 homes in July. The report surveys 43 counties in the state. Other top counties include:

Benton County, which is up 28 percent

Saline County, which is up 22 percent

Pulaski County, which is up 20 percent

Washington County, which is up 12 percent
