Five of this Friday's matchups in the Arkansas high school football playoffs will have one ranked team facing another.

In Class 7A, eighth-ranked Springdale Har-Ber visits No. 7 Conway in a quarterfinal matchup. A Class 6A quarterfinal has No. 5 Lake Hamilton visiting No. 4 Jonesboro. In a Class 5A quarterfinal, second-ranked Camden Fairview travels to third-ranked Batesville.

Smaller schools are in the second round. The fifth-ranked team in Class 3A, Barton, travels to fourth-ranked Hoxie, and in Class 2A Conway Christian travels to Carlisle.

Conway and Junction City are coming off byes.

In Class 4A, the five ranked teams are all at home facing unranked foes. Ashdown visits top-ranked Dollarway.

One ranked team fell last Friday. No. 6 Fayetteville lost at home to Little Rock Central.

• Familiar foe awaits Batesville

Batesville had hoped for another chance at Camden Fairview, though it didn't expect that opportunity to come quite so soon.

The Pioneers (9-2), who lost to the Cardinals in the Class 5A state championship game last season, will have another chance against the defending state champions on Friday night when they host Camden Fairview (10-1) in the second round of the state playoffs.

Batesville has won eight straight games to earn a No. 1 seed, with its only losses coming in non-conference play against Class 7A Springdale High and Class 6A Jonesboro.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, fell to a No. 2 seed after a conference loss to Hope, with the result being a difficult road trip this week — against an opponent eager for a shot at redemption.
