In 2010, Dr. Terence Champlin founded TLC Pediatrics in Conway, which sits at 605 Salem Road, Suite B2.

On Tuesday, the clinic broke new ground at on Carolyn Lane off Farris Road.

"This has been a long process," Champlin said. "We started almost three years ago and it has been a tough journey. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of challenges with this, but God has been good to bring us to this point."

Champlin said several people worked together to overcome challenges; including finding a price range that was feasible.

"We think we are there and ready to move ahead," Champlin said.

Champlin said about half of the clinic staff that is involved now started about seven years ago and were instrumental in the process.

"Somehow we all stuck together throughout the years," he said. "Through thick and thin, they watched this dream and it’s been a clinic project in a lot of ways. It’s been a lot of waiting, a lot of planning and a lot of regrouping.

"We hope to use this new facility to the way God has planned it. This is a big day that’s almost three years in the making."

Terence’s wife Sharon said the clinic’s theme is associated with the Bible verse Matthew 19:26.

"It says, ‘With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible,’" she said. "We stand on this ground because of that verse."

Rik Sowell Architects is heading up the project.
