Beebe’s Hamburger’s and Hot Dogs celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting Tuesday.

Co-owner Laura Cecil said it has been a great opening week.

"We’ve been open a whole week," she said. "This is our first restaurant. We want to thank everyone who has stopped in.

"We have really seen the love of Conway and it has been amazing. A lot of people have been supportive of us along the way. It is our first restaurant. We have been dreaming about it for years, so here we are."

Cecil’s husband and co-owner Jerimie shared the heartwarming story of how their restaurant began and got its name.

"We were in the Navy together," he said. "I was and she was a Navy wife. It was pretty strenuous, so we did that for 10 years and then went into the oil field.

"That’s a complete shift — from the Navy to the oil field. We have been praying a lot about this. It’s a lot of hard work and a lot of long hours, but I think that’s God preparing us for this adventure.

"As a unit, we know we can do anything. There’s a lot of stuff that comes with that. We have been blessed with great employees and the community has been really supportive."

The restaurant got its name from a dog the Cecils rescued.

"Beebe is our rescue dog that Jerimie found on the rig one day, outside of Beebe," Laura said. "She runs the house and the neighborhood. We have just been going back and forth with the name of the restaurant."

Beebe, the dog, was rescued out of a well after falling in, wandering around the woods outside Beebe.

The dog came back to the site where Jerimie worked before eventually going home with him.

All of the restaurant’s ingredients are fresh, Laura said.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is located at 2751 Dave Ward Drive.
