Two Mt. Vernon-Enola High School students were chosen as the Optimist Club’s Teens of the Month for September.
Kaylea Jobe, daughter of Denny and Cristy Jobe, is the president of the Future Farmers of America Club, the president of the senior class, a member of the BETA Club and an athlete on the basketball and softball team.
Jobe is also a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Club where she is involved in the youth group and basketball and softball teams.
The 17 year old also serves as a volunteer for Vacation Bible School and World Changers Mission Trip.
Jobe, who currently has a 3.5 GPA will graduate in 2018.
While she isn’t sure where she will attend college, Jobe does plan on entering into the medical field.
Kanyin Martin, son of Mary Martin, is the captain of the school’s basketball team and is involved with the school’s agriculture department.
Martin is also a member of the Crossroads Cowboy Church.
The 17 year old’s current GPA is 2.7 and he will graduate in 2018.
Martin said he plans to attend college but is undecided on where right now.
