Ten young women will be competing for the title of Miss University of Central Arkansas 2018 this Friday night in Reynolds Performance Hall on the university Campus.

Miss Arkansas 2017 Maggie Benton and Miss UCA 2017 and Kelli Collins will be available before the pageant and during intermission to sign autographs.

Providing entertainment for the evening will be Miss Arkansas, Miss UCA, the Alpha Sigma Alpha Phoenix Dancers, the UCA Honeybear Dance Team and Caitlyn Cook.

Katie Bailey Harris, Miss Arkansas 2009, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies for the pageant.

Each contestant competes individual in five phases of competition, which include presentation and community achievement in private interview, onstage questions, artistic expression in talent, lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit and presence and poise in evening wear.

The winner of the 2018 Miss UCA Scholarship Pageant will receive a $6,000 scholarship to the university and more than $9,000 in other awards and prizes.

Scholarship and awards totaling $5,450 will be awarded to other winners during the pageant.

Ticket prices are $5 for UCA students, faculty and staff with an I.D., $5 for children 12 and under and $10 for the general public and will go on sale at 6 p.m. the day of the pageant in the lobby of Reynolds Performance Hall.

General admission seating begins at 6:30 and the pageant begins at 7 p.m.

Program books can be purchased for $5 and only cash or checks will be accepted.

The Miss UCA Scholarship Pageant, an official Miss America Local Preliminary Pageant, has been sponsored for the past 22 years by the Miss UCA Scholarship Pageant Association and Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.

The pageant was named the Miss Arkansas Local Preliminary Pageant of the Year for 2015 and 2016.
