For the first time the title for the Fair Parade Senior Citizens King and Queen resulted in a tie.
Contestants were nominated by the members and placed on a ballot. Each member signed a register and could vote for their favorite contestant. The winners were King and Queen: Charles Stout and Sybil Williams and King and Queen Bob Sheppard and Rose Loftin.
All four are active participants in the functions held at the Senior Center. Stout is a retired homebuilder. He has two children, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all of Conway. He serves the Senior Center as a PEPPI assistant in the Strength Training Program.
Williams is a co-facilitator of the Strength Training Program at the center. She is the mother of two children, Marc Williams and Janna Michaelis of Conway. She has six grandchildren.
Sheppard is a carpenter who can repair or build almost anything. He likes to fish, dance and ride around in his BMW.
Loftin is a devoted mother and grandmother. Rose loves to tend to her garden. She leads an active life and loves her family, friends, pets, and hobbies. The two royal couples represented Conway Senior Center in the Faulkner County Fair Parade.
Wallace Brown drove Loftin and Sheppard, Mike Stout drove Stout and Williams.
