David Ellis Battles
David Ellis Battles, 61, of Austin, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009.
He was born Feb. 19, 1948 in England, Ark., to the late Homer and Mattie Chance Battles.
David served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Max M. H. Battles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bonita Bradley Battles; two sisters, Patsy (R. L.) Robinson and Erma Crawford, both of England, Ark.; three brothers, Jimmy (Liz) Battles of Cabot, Burl Battles of Pasadena, Texas, and Elmo Crossno of Cleveland, Texas; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his very special little dog, "Clyde."
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery in Enola.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
