The all day meeting of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the First Presbyterian Church was held at the home of Mrs. Frank E. Robbins. A delicious menu was served at noon. Mrs. B.W. Torreyson gave an interesting Bible study from the gospel of Mark. Circle No. 1, Mrs. Robins chairman, had a beautiful child’s "Dutch Doll" quilt on frames and work on it was done during the afternoon. The quilt would be sold at the bazaar in December.

The Fidelis Matrons class of the First Baptist Sunday School met with Mrs. Jack Rogers. Mrs. J. Trual Starr, Mrs. Jesse Dufield and Mrs. Harry Adams were co-hostesses. Dr. E.P.J. Garrott gave the Bible lesson. Mrs. Lonnie Webb told t he story of the life of Livingston. An enjoyable social hour followed with the hostesses serving sandwiches, cake and a fruit beverage.

Mrs. Lee W. Reynolds, longtime Conway church leader, was named president-elect of the Arkansas Synodical Women’s Organization at Malvern.

A meeting of the Senior Girl Scout Troop No. 303 was held at the home of Mrs. Jack Pittman. The meeting was called to order by Jimmie Lou Drake. The following were elected officers: Frances Dunn, Pat Fulmer and Dorothy Hunter. The group agreed to meet the first Wednesday and the last Saturday of each month to go as a group to collect for UNICEFF. Other projects discussed were to go to Hector on a hike a camp out, to fix a basket for a needy home for Thanksgiving and to give toys to needy children at Christmas.

Sid Smith, a former track performer for Conway High School, finished 556th out of 1,035 participants in the Iron Man Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Mrs. Russell C. Roberts of Conway was honored with 75th birthday celebration at the home of Mrs. Suzanne Brazil; 4 Birchwood Dr. Hostesses were Mrs. Robert’s children, Robin Priest, Mrs. Brazil and Jack Roberts.

Chelsey Smith put a vest on her pet deer, Babe, to protect her during bow season. Babe was raised on goat’s milk after the Smith family of Otto Road found her when she was about a week old. She was now 13 months and "very loving," said Chelsey.

The Spaulding Blazers softball team took second place in the United State Class C World Tournament at Garland, Texas. Team members were Kelly Snelson, Jennifer Loter, Kim Webb, Corry McDonald, Kay Spence, Rachel Hawk, Alicia May, Valerie Jones, Betina Ramsey, Jami Wilson and coaches Furlen Webb and Rick Langley. The team manager was Jennifer Hawk.
