Kenneth D. Sanders Jr., 76, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Hospice House, following an illness.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1933 in Mount Vernon to Kenneth and Beulah (Armstrong) Sanders, who preceded him in death.
On April 23, 1959, in Conway, he married the former Melba F. Kelly. She survives with two daughters, Cindy Campbell of Mishawaka and Pamela (Don) Creed of Edwardsburg, Mich.
Also surviving are four grandchildren and one great grandchild along with two brothers, Wayburn (Doris) Sanders and Clois Sanders, both of Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sue Curtis.
Mr. Sanders was an independent Truck Driver and was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School.
He loved NASCAR racing, fishing and hunting.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., where friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at 1 p.m. Friday.
Burial will follow the services Friday at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
The family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the American Cancer Society.
