The Faulkner County Supporters of Sustainable Communities (FCSSC) will host a countywide forum on thinking globally and acting locally from 9-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9-2 p.m. at Simon Intermediate School, 1600 East Siebenmorgen Road in Conway. Doors open at 8:30.
All residents wishing to consider new ideas toward a vibrant community that works for all are invited to participate.
The third annual forum will be held on the International Day of Climate Action and is one of a growing number of "350 Actions" around the world on that date.
These actions are part of a global movement to raise awareness of greenhouse gas effects on planetary temperature changes and to collaborate creatively to reduce CO2 emissions to a level of 350 parts per million. An emission-free fuel technology will be on display by Central Arkansas Alternative Fuels.
The participant-led event will once again be guided by Genuine Contact instructor and facilitator Michael Vinson of Healthy Space, www.healthyspace.net.
Included will be an opportunity to volunteer to serve on the FCSSC Coordinating Team, local people dedicated to sustainability issues who help to guide the vision and direction of the group as a whole. All are welcome and invited to participate. To help prepare the food, e-mail Nancy Allen at email@example.com
