Virginia Thomas Lamonds Porter, 89, of Conway passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. 

Born June 22, 1920 in West Point, Ark., she was a daughter of Henry O. Thomas and Elizabeth Lee Thomas. She was a retired office assistant for Fones Brothers Hardware in Little Rock and a charter member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Grove and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Vilonia. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Andrew Garle Lamonds and George Porter; two brothers, Jack Thomas and James Thomas; a sister, Betty Thomas; a daughter-in-law, Dawne Lamonds and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Alford. She is survived by a son, Andrew G. Lamonds Jr. of Lincoln, Ala., a daughter, Nancy Cheek and husband John of Conway; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Doris Harper of White Hall; a sister-in-law, Joyce Thomas of Little Rock, as well as two nieces and two nephews. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with pastor Ken Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock. 

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be nephews, Steve Thomas and Scott Harper, great-grandsons George Bradley III, and Benjamin Severs, Jonathan Severs, Matthew Severs and Daniel Severs. 

Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren, Cayla Dudeck, Nicholas Bradley, Marcus Bradley, Dallas Alford, Bryan Alford and great-great-grandson Ethan Severs. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the building fund at Friendship Baptist Church, 676 Rocky Point Road, Conway, Ark., 72032.
