Frank Jones will continue his series of stories for adults on the first Tuesday evening of the month at 7 p.m. in the auditorium (west wing) of the Faulkner County Library at 1900 Tyler St. in Conway.
The stories for Tuesday include “If you ain’t got elegance,” “Vance Randolph, father of Ozark folklore,” and “Curfew must not toll tonight.”
Jones recently received the prestigious “Folk Life” Award for his outstanding contributions to the art of oral tradition.
The “Folk Life” Award is a Governor’s Art Award. The annual Governor’s Arts Awards program recognizes individuals and corporations for their support of the arts in Arkansas.
The awards were presented at the Governor’s Arts Awards luncheon in conjunction with ArtLinks, the Arts Council’s annual statewide arts conference.
Jones received his award in October of this year. The on-going program is free and no registration is required. For more information or to volunteer with set up, call Sarah at the library at 327-7482 or e-mail sarah@fcl.org.
