Dr. Jane Cassidy, chair of music education and interim associate dean of the College of Music and Dramatic Arts at LSU, will appear at the University of Central Arkansas as artist in residence today and Friday.
Cassidy, the Roy and Margaret Gianelloni professor of music, will lecture on her most notable research, "Effects of Music on Critical Premature Infants in the NICO Unit," at 7:30 p.m. today at 7:30 p.m. in room 223 of the Student Center.
She will also give two masterclasses in Snow Fine Arts Center 316: Concepts of Music for Early Childhood at 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. today.
She will also conduct a professional development program for regional music directors titled "Teaching Music Students with Special Needs" at 1:30 p.m. today in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
All events are free and open to the public.
