The United Way of Central Arkansas received a $10,000 donation recently from Southwestern Energy that will help the nonprofit organization make the Faulkner County area a better place to live. 

According to Jennifer Bickers, resource development director of the United Way of Faulkner County, the organization partners with 19 local nonprofit agencies to improve the education, health and income of the central Arkansas community. 

Southwestern Energy will contribute $35,000 to six United Way capital campaigns across the Fayetteville Shale play area. 

United Way in White, Conway, Cleburne and Van Buren counties, as well as the River Valley United Way, each received $5,000 donations. 

The United Way of Central Arkansas, which is located in Faulkner County where Southwestern Energy’s base of operations in the Fayetteville Shale play is located, received a contribution of $10,000.
