Eleven young women will compete for the title of Miss University of Central Arkansas 2010 on Friday in Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus.  

Sarah Barnett, Miss UCA 2009, will perform as well as co-emcee the pageant with UCA alumnus Doug Patchell. The reigning Miss Arkansas, Sarah Slocum, and the Alpha Sigma Alpha Phoenix Dancers will provide additional entertainment during the pageant. The winner will receive a $6,000 scholarship to UCA and more than $4,200 in prizes.  Scholarships totaling $2,150 will be given to other winners during the pageant. Each contestant competes in Presentation and Community Achievement in Private Interview, Artistic Expression in Talent, Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Presence and Poise in Evening Wear and On-Stage Question.

The contestants for the 2010 Miss University of Central Arkansas Scholarship Pageant include: 

Anna Lee Carter, a 19-year-old sophomore political major from Stuttgart, will perform a tap dance.  Her parents are Brad and Lashay Carter, and she is sponsored by the UCA Residence Hall Association.

Megan Lindsey Daniels, a 20-year-old junior kinesiology major from El Dorado, will perform a Lyrical/Acrobatic routine.  She is a daughter of Marlin and Connie Daniels and is sponsored by her parents.

Melissa Davis, a 21-year-old senior exercise science and dietetics/nutrition major from Hot Springs, will perform a tap dance.  Her parents are Dale and Pamela Davis and she is sponsored by Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Amber Gross, a 20-year-old junior biology/pre-medicine major from Bee Branch, will be clogging for her talent.  She is a daughter of Kelly and Wendy Gross and is sponsored by her family and friends.

Alicia Haflich, a 21-year-old senior healthcare administration major from Mountain Home, will perform a tap dance.  She is sponsored by pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and her parents are Tim and Lalita Haflich.

Kerry Hawkins, a 20-year-old junior music education major from Vilonia, will be singing.  She is sponsored by the UCA Bear Marching Band and the University Chorus.  Her parents are Steve and Christine Hawkins.

Brittany Henderson, a 19-year-old sophomore business administration major from Prattsville, will be singing.  She is sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority and is a daughter of Derek and Debbie Henderson.

Lauren Howell, a 19-year-old sophomore pre-marketing major from Conway, will be performing a tap dance.  She is sponsored by Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, and her parents are John and Debra Howell.

Courtney Moody, a 19-year-old sophomore radiography major from Conway, will be singing.  She is the daughter of Billy and Mary Moody and is sponsored by Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.

Katie Segrest, a 21-year-old junior education major from Hot Springs, will be singing.  She is sponsored by Sigma Kappa Sorority,  and her parents are Gary and Jan Segrest.

Rebecca Smith, a 19-year-old junior mathematics major from Conway, will be singing.  She is a daughter of Frank and Sally Smith, and her sponsor is Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.

The Miss UCA Scholarship Pageant is sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Miss UCA Pageant Board of Directors.  Tickets can be purchased beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall Lobby the evening of the pageant. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the pageant will begin at 7:30 p.m.  

All seating is general admission. Miss Arkansas and Miss UCA will be available to sign autographs before the pageant and during intermission.
