BIGELOW — Both the St. Joseph junior boys and girls advanced to the finals of the 5-2A North Conference tournament with a pair of victories over Abundant Life on Saturday.

The Junior Lady Bulldogs got a 3-pointer from Rachel Briggler with 40 seconds left to put them in front en route to a 28-27 win. The St. Joseph junior boys, meanwhile, had a little easier time, as they took a 42-24 decision.

Briggler led the St. Joseph junior girls (16-6) with 14 points and added three steals. Abby Kordsmeier chipped in eight points. Rachel Ross had four points and six rebounds, while Meagan Brigger contributed six rebounds.

The Junior Lady Bulldogs will play Bigelow in the finals at 6 p.m. Monday.

Andrew Beck led the Junior Bulldogs (21-1) with 16 points and five steals. Cole Schichtl added five points and six rebounds, while Andrew Kordsmeier chipped in five points and four assits. Josh Antonie finished with five rebounds.

The St. Joseph junior boys will play at 7:15 p.m. Monday


SHERIDAN — The Conway White ninth-grade boys defeated Conway Blue 57-20 Saturday in the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference.

Tim Boyd led White (19-3) with 12 points. Jake Hamm finished with 10.

Conway White will take on Morrilton at 7:15 Monday in the second round.
