NORTH LITTLE ROCK (AP) — The chairman of Arkansas' Republican Party says he expects to raise about $400,000 from Sarah Palin's appearance at a fundraiser.
Doyle Webb told reporters on Tuesday that about 5,000 tickets had been sold for the fundraiser headlined by the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
Webb would not say how much of the money raised would go toward Palin's speaking fee for the event.
Organizers of the fundraiser have barred the public and media from making any video or audio recordings from Palin's speech. Webb said he disagreed with the ban, but that it was part of the contract the state party negotiated with the Washington Speakers Bureau for Palin's appearance.
