SHERIDAN — The Conway White boys basketball team faced a tall order in Thursday night’s Central Arkansas Junior High Conference tournament championship game.
Much of that came in the way of North Little Rock’s size.
As a result, North Little Rock defeated the Kittens 42-37. With the loss, Conway White — which won the North Division — finished the season 21-4.
Tim Boyd led the Kittens with 21 points. Brandon Cox added seven.
GREENBRIER — The Greenbrier Lady Panthers netted their first soccer victory of the season, taking an 8-1 decision over Clarksville.
Kaylee Coffman led with two goals, while Julie Nelson, Amnda Hibner and Miranda Woody all had a goal and an assist each. Alana Garrett, Nicole Atkinson and Piage Rowlett all scored goals as well. Amber Atkinson chipped in an assist.
Greenbrier coach T.J. Slough said Bailey Hammett, Caitlyn Richardson and Mackenzie Neumeier all had strong performances.
The Lady Panthers (1-0-1) will play at Fort Smith Northside on Tuesday.
GLEN ROSE — The Mayflower senior boys saw their season come to a close Wednesday after falling to host Glen Rose 57-53 in the 2-3A Conference tournament.
The Eagles led 22-21 at halftime before the Beavers made a strong second-half push.
Jordan Dycus led Mayflower with 19 points.
The Mayflower senior girls will play at 4 p.m. today against the winner of Thursday’s Glen Rose-Arkansas Baptist game.
