Eugene H. Weisenfels, 82, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Holy Name Society of Christ the King Catholic Church.  

He was a 1945 graduate of Subiaco Acadamy, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and retired from Warmack & Company after 44 years as a bookkeeper. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Margaret Weisenfels.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife Pauline Weisenfels of the home; two daughters, Mary Moore of Fort Smith and Theresa Gramlich of North Little Rock; four sons, David Weisenfels, Paul Weisenfels and John Weisenfels, all of Fort Smith, and Christopher Weisenfels of Butte, Mont.; three step-sons, Luke Ballenger of Yarmouth, Mass., Ben Ballenger and Gary Ballenger, both of Fort Smith; one sister, Gertrude Rappold of Conway; two brothers, Augustine Weisenfels of Fort Smith and Charlie Weisenfels of Morrison Bluff; 14 grandchildren; five step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Daniel Moore, Phillip Moore, Aaron Weisenfels, Adam Weisenfels, Jason Weisenfels, Mathew Weisenfels, and Logan Weisenfels.

Public Viewing will be from 8 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
