The Conway Lady Cats soccer team recently came away with a win and a tie in their season opening tournament in northwest Arkansas.

The Lady Cats defeated Bentonville 1-0 on Morgan Woodward’s diving header in the 73rd minute on assist from Kara Blackwell.  

Conway and Bentonville each had four shots on goal. The next day, the Lady Cats and Fayetteville dueled to a 1-1 tie. 

The Lady Cats (1-0-1) ended with more shots on goal, 8-3. Conway’s Caitlyn Carroll scored the Lady Cats’ only goal. Strong defensive performances were turned in by Kacey Hight and Brittny Tomlin.

The Wampus Cat Invitational is set for today, and the Lady Cats will play at 8 a.m., noon and 4 p.m.. All games will be played at Centennial Bank Park.
