NORTH LITTLE ROCK — In a special called meeting, the Arkansas Activities Assocition’s Board of Directors voted to hire Conway native Nick Lasker to replace Kathy Snell Tadlock as an associate director. 

Tadlock announced in January that she would retire at the end of the current school year, ending a 30-year career with the AAA. 

Lasker will officially join the AAA staff July 1.

Lasker, a former basketball star at both Conway High and Hendrix College, is currently principal at Dan F. Long Middle School in Dallas, Texas.

He previously served as principal at Fort Smith Kimmons Junior High School (2001-2003), assistant principal at Fort Smith Chaffin Junior High School (1999-2001), assistant principal at Kimmons (1997-1999), assistant men’s basketball coach/fitness center instructor at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith (1995-1997), head boys basketball coach/teacher at Fort Smith Northside (1993-1995), assistant coach/teacher at Fort Smith Southside (1990-1993) and head boys basketball coach/teacher at Waldo High School (1988-1990).

Lasker graduated from Conway High School in 1984 and earned his bachelor’s from Hendrix College in 1988 and his master’s from the University of Central Arkansas in 1995.
