Jarrell Lee Bentley, 85, died Monday, March 8, 2010.  

He was born on May 4, 1924 in Little Rock.  

He and his late brother Harrell were the first set of twins born at New General Hospital (now MacArthur Park).  He was a deacon of Baring Cross Baptist Church for 50+ years before joining First Baptist Church of Sherwood in 2003.  

He served his country during World War II as a merchant sailor/third mate aboard Liberty Ships.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Olive Pearl Gill Bentley; two daughters: Beverly Kleweno of Athens, Ga. and Krista Geran of Sherwood; four grandchildren; two-great grandchildren: Caroline and Carlee Boyd; as well as a host of other family and friends.  

He was a master electrician and line construction foreman for Local Union 295, a member of IBEW, a choir member and a teacher.  

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sherwood, 701 Country Club Road, Sherwood, Ark. 72120.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday at First Baptist Church of Sherwood with Rev. Paul McClung officiating.  

Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
