Conway’s Kayleigh Little broke through for the Lady Cats in a major way at John McConnell Stadium on Tuesday night.

Little took an assist from Leah Riner and put the match-winning goal through the net, giving Conway a 1-0 victory over Little Rock Central with a little over a minute left in double overtime. With the win, the Lady Cats are the only undefeated team in the 7A-Central Conference with a 4-0 mark. Conway has a 7-1-1 overall record.

"Kayleigh has more passion in her pinky finger than most people have in their entire lives," Conway coach Whitney Allison said. "Everything just happened so fast. She was at the right place at the right time, and she was able to put it in. It was amazing. I’m proud for her. ... Our team showed heart and displayed teamwork. That’s what you have to have to be successful."

Conway has another home match Thursday against Bryant before taking a week off for spring break.

"(Tuesday) was a battle to see who was the best team in the conference," Allison said. "It was a very important game and we didn’t play so well in the first half. That was my fault. I got the girls ready to face a 4-3-3 and Central ran a 3-4-3 instead, so that was a coaching error.

"In the second half and in the overtime periods, we just came out and played our game, and we looked much better. We had so many shots on the goal and so many close calls that it was crazy. I’m glad that we were able to be that first team to score. It was a very physical game and several girls got some bumps and bruises."
