An 11-run fourth inning helped Bauxite claim a 15-2 softball win over St. Joseph at City of Colleges Park on Monday.

The Lady Miners led 4-0 before that explosion. The game, the season opener for the Lady Bulldogs, was called after five innings due to the run rule.

"Our goal is to get better with each game," St. Joseph coach Debra Wilhite said. "We have a lot of players playing new positions, so the key is getting some experience and settling in to a comfort zone."

Bauxite banged out six hits, and six of those 15 runs were earned. The Lady Bulldogs, who had three hits, scored both of their runs in the bottom of the fourth. They also committed five errors.

Amy Schichtl and Katie Halter were both 1-for-2 for St. Joseph, which will host Guy at 4 p.m. today.
