MAGNOLIA (AP) — A 22-year-old south Arkansas woman has pleaded not guilty to capital murder charges in the suffocation deaths of her two children.

Dawn Marie Wines of Taylor entered the plea Thursday in Columbia County Circuit Court in Magnolia. She's accused of smothering her 18-month-old son Louis last August and her 6-month-old daughter Annabelle in October.

The deaths were not ruled homicides until last month. Wines was arrested last week in Luling, La.

A mental evaluation has been ordered for Wines and a public defender will be appointed to represent her.
