TREMONT, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol says four high school seniors from Arkansas died early Saturday in an accident near Tremont in the northeastern corner of the state.

Trooper Ray Hall says the victims were riding in a sport utility vehicle when it struck a bridge on Highway 78, flipped and landed upside down in a creek. The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m.

All four were pronounced dead at the scene.

Hall says the SUV was part of a six-to-seven vehicle caravan carrying students and chaperones from North Little Rock High School to a spring break holiday in Florida.
