LITTLE ROCK (AP) — A 17-year-old Little Rock boy has been sentenced to 65 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing a 67-year-old man during a robbery.

Antonio Terry avoided a possible life sentence by agreeing to plead guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated robbery of Maurice Clark. As part of the deal prosecutors reduced the murder charge from capital murder and say Clark's family endorsed the agreement.

Terry had been released early from juvenile custody two months before Clark was killed despite recommendations that he needed more treatment. The supervisor who released Terry was later fired for lying about whether she was warned against releasing several teenagers from juvenile custody.
