Jenny Kristine Lagergren, of Conway, is among 10 Arkansas students who earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine during the school’s commencement ceremony Monday, May 14.

The university awarded 82 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees during its 36th annual Veterinary Medicine Commencement Exercises. Dean Peter F. Haynes led the graduates in taking the Veterinarian’s Oath, which was originally adopted by the American Veterinary Medical Association in 1969 and revised in 2010.

Arkansas students who received Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees, senior awards and internships are: Chelsea Cherí Dowler, Beech Grov, Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery Certificate of Merit Award; Jenny Kristine Lagergren, Conway; Sara Elizabeth Huber, Fayetteville; Gale Martina Raymond, Fayetteville, Clinical Pathology Award of Excellence and Arkansas Veterinary Medical Foundation Outstanding Student Award; Brandy LeAnne Mathews, Huttig; Felice Ferris Troutman, Jonesboro, Veterinary Business Management Association Certificate; J. Brent Koonce, Little Rock, Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery Certificate of Merit Award and Veterinary Cancer Society Student Award for Proficiency in Clinical Oncology; Desiree Loraine Thomas, Mountain Home, Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery Certificate of Merit Award; Alexander Cole Bradford, Sheridan, American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists Award, Novartis-Ethicon Companion Animal Award and Arkansas Veterinary Medical Foundation Outstanding Student Award; and Elizabeth Kathryn Harris, Texarkana.
