The Conway County Hometown Health Coalition, which recently merged with the Conway County ATOD Prevention Coalition, and the Morrilton Senior Adult Center are sponsoring "Project Backpack." This project is a drive seeking donated Backpacks to use in Conway County schools to send food home to children in need. You can drop off new or nearly new (no ragged or torn, please) backpacks at the Morrilton Senior Adult Center, 706 N. Division St., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; the Morrilton City Council Room, 210 N. Moose St., any time; or Kids First, 411 Lentz Dr. in Morrilton, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday Backpacks are being collected from now until Sept. 28. This drive is for backpacks only. There will be a separate food drive at a later date, to be announced, which will give members of the community an opportunity to donate the food items.
