Since its founding on April 1, 2004, the mission at Kids Life & Money – "To provide financial literacy programs that equip students and their families to achieve educational and life goals."
The founders of Kids Life & Money believe that having a financial vision for life is invaluable. Individuals without a clear financial vision, struggle to solve the financial puzzle. With financial education and financial literacy, however, the pieces of the puzzle fall harmoniously into place. By equipping young people with the tools to discover and implement a proper financial vision for their lives, the programs developed by Kids Life & Money serve as a roadmap to guide young people out of the valley of perpetual fiscal difficulties and to the summit of financial health. By learning how to set and achieve financial goals, we set in motion good habits that can be passed down from generation to generation, producing empowerment and purpose. We believe that a proactive approach can transform the legacy of consumption and spending to an honorable, disciplined tradition that increases and passes on a legacy of inheritance and wealth.
In 2012, KLM implemented afterschool/summer program designed using extensive research related to the impact of educating the "whole child." The program entices all students to choose a path of academic success, wise choices, healthy expressions, and positive future endeavors while providing them with a safe, creative, productive atmosphere for children 5th-12th grade. KLM will challenge each child to be inquisitive, competitive, and confident. It is constructed to creatively reinforce academic, financial, nutritional and functional skills. KLM welcomes and encourages consistent parental involvement. The program’s goal is to continually strive towards superiority with required professional development, related seminars, and continued education. Parents are welcomed to participate and share suggestions to assist in our continuous improvement.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to become an active participant in the KLM program. Volunteers are needed to help with tutoring services, enrichment activities or assisting instructors.
