Mrs. R.W. Robins, chairman of the Christmas seal drive in Conway, reported today that $212 of the city’s $300 quota had been raised. Mrs. Robins said 532 letters were mailed out and that 227 answers have been received. Additional funds are expected.

Miss Jimmie Lou Drake, bride-elect of Houston Frederick Cantrell was honored at a miscellaneous shower last Sunday at the home of Mrs. J.Y. Skelton, Mrs. E.P. Swaffer and Mrs. G. Muehl were co-hostesses. The home was beautifully decorated with roses from Mrs. Skelton’s yard. The honoree’s chair was marked with a bride doll. Miss Drake was presented a white orchid corsage and a variety of lovely gifts. Refreshments were served after playing bride’s Bingo.

Gov. Bill Clinton announced yesterday the appointment of Beth Kimball of Conway to the Governor’s Task Force on Rape.
Mrs. Kimball replaces Mary McKinney, also of Conway, whose term expired, and will serve until June 16, 1989.
