Miss Winnie McHenry and Miss Melba Cox entertained with a card party Wednesday afternoon at the home of Miss McHenry on Clifton Street, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Games of bridge were played at three tables, and Miss Elizabeth McBrien won the high score prize and Miss Julia Dell Stevenson the galloping horse prize. A dainty sandwich plate with individual pies and coffee was served at the conclusion of the games.

Louis E. Moix, a junior student at the St. Louis University School of Medicine, has been elected to membership in the University’s chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honorary medical society.

Young Moix is one of the five junior medical students to be elected to the society this year. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Moix. After graduating from St. Joseph High school, he attended Arkansas State Teachers College, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and Hendrix College, the latter being where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Moix has been active both academically and socially.

Glenn and Bobbie Pemberton of Damascus are parents of a son, Colin Michael, born Friday (Dec.25, 1987) at Conway Regional Hospital. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. The couple’s other children are Gayle Miner, 21, Michelle Miner, 20, Herbie Miner, 18, Robby Miner, 16, Shara Pemberton, 7 and Alicia Pemberton, 3. Grandparents are Robert and Mable Parker of Damascus and Johanna M. Pemberton of Fort Worth, Texas.
