Christian friends, I greet you in the name of Jesus, for no other name is greater than the name Jesus: our Lord and our Savior.

"I was thinking of you," is a phrase that excites us when we hear it. We even get a measure of enjoyment when we say it to others. However, should we restrict this phrase to something said externally? Do we say this internally? In other words, do we say to ourselves, "I was thinking of you"? Do we have good thoughts about ourselves? We fail ourselves if we are not thinking well of ourselves. The bible says in Proverbs 23:7, As he thinketh in his heart, so is he. That indicates that thoughts are vital to our becoming whatever it may be that we want to become. Since our thoughts direct our lives, we must take control of our thoughts. When we are reluctant to take control of our thoughts, our lives are as a car sliding on ice: no direction and totally out of control. Our thoughts are the steering wheel of our lives, for that reason, we must overload our minds with good thoughts and combat each negative thought with a good or positive thought.

Thoughts steer our life. We create our life’s destination with our thoughts. If we were to examine the present state of our life, we would see the sum total of our thoughts. A gloomy statement if we have been failing ourselves, nonetheless asking ourselves a couple of questions can prove this. Are we having the life that we want? What type of thoughts about ourselves are we having? The good thoughts that we continually have about ourselves guides us as a map guides a traveler to his destination. Not only can we create the type of life that we want through our thoughts, we can use our thoughts as footsteps. Where do we want to go in life? It starts with a thought. Our good thoughts must continue until the thoughts we are having and the life we see are synonymous.

We must feed our minds with good thoughts about ourselves daily. When we do not, we push away our desired dream life. What our eyes see and what our ears hear can help create our negative thoughts. We must combat each negative thought with a positive one. We cannot expect to escape the destructive effects of our negative thoughts simply by ignoring them. Ignoring our negative thoughts does not eradicate them or liberate us from their destruction; no more than sweeping trash into the corner of the room successfully cleans a room.

Our thoughts are the steering wheel of our lives. When we overload our minds with good thoughts, we are able to combat each negative thought. Good thoughts are the escort of life: guiding us from one success to another.

Until the next time: our assignment is to increase our good thoughts about ourselves.

May the God of Glory keep you.
