John Grummer, who entered the Grummer Hardware Company store as a clerk 30 years ago, is now the owner of the firm here bearing his name. The late William J. Grummer started the business in 1905, two years before the present owner was employed as a clerk. The elder Mr. Grummer retired because of ill health in 1919, at which time the business was taken over by Gerhard Grummer and A. Lachowsky.

Mr. Grummer has bought the late Mr. Lachowsky’s interest in the firm and will continue the business with the same policies, he said.

Conway High School football coach Buzz Bolding and his son, Brad, go over the details of an Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference letter of intent signed yesterday by the junior Bolding at his home. Brad Bolding, a 6-1, 205-pound tight end at Conway High School, was the University of Central Arkansas’ first football recruit as signing season opened yesterday in the AIC. The signing of the younger Bolding makes for an ironic situation: UCA coach Harold Horton’s son, Tim, played for Buzz Bolding in high school, and now Horton is to coach Bolding’s son in college.
