Harlan Park Church
to host ‘The Cast’
On Sunday, Jan. 27, at 10:50 a.m., Harlan Park Baptist Church will host “The Cast,” followed by a luncheon for those who attend.
“The Cast” is presenting a 2013 program that focuses on “Peculiar People.” That is the theme for the group, which is the creative ministry team of Williams Baptist College.
“The very idea of peculiar people seems comical, and yet scripture tells us that Christians are called to be peculiar people, set apart and distinct in our lives and in our service,” says Brett Cooper, vice president for institutional advancement at WBC. Cooper and Melinda Williams, who heads the college’s drama department, are co-directors of “The Cast”.
“The scripture our theme is based upon is in 1 Peter 2,” Cooper says. “The passage reminds us very strongly of our responsibility to spread the good news and the grace that we have received.”
“The Cast presents a series of sketches, some of which are very funny and others which have a more serious tone, but the idea behind the entire program is to present a gospel message through drama,” says Cooper.
The church is located at 1895 Dave Ward Dr. in Conway and more information is available at the church office (327-6015), online at www.harlanparkbaptist.org, or email the pastor at email@example.com.
