Faulkner County Circuit Clerk Sharon Rimmer held plans for a county jail dated 1874. The plans were found recently while Mrs. Rimmer and office staff were rearranging files stored in the courthouse basement beneath her office in an attempt to make more space available upstairs. In November, Mrs. Rimmer asked the Faulkner County Quorum Court to provide her office with 7,500 square feet of additional space. The project, estimated to cost about $126,000, was not approved by the court, but Mrs. Rimmer has indicated she may make the request again.
