O.D. Hackler of Conway has been nominated as candidate for one of the three positions of supervisor of the Central Valleys soil conservation district, it was announced today. Nominations are made by petitions of 25 or more elections and the last day on which they may be filed will by Monday. Mr. Hackler has been connected with the county agricultural office here for some time.

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Johnson have purchased a five-room residence at 371 Davis St., from Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Price.
The Johnsons and their son, Bill Johnson, plan to move to their new home next month. The Prices recently occupied their new brick home on Simms Street, immediately west of the Davis St. property.
The Johnsons sold their home at 1318 Garvin St., to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Matchett.

Workmen poured a 25-foot-thick concrete cap yesterday morning on a defunct Titan II missile silo at the Springhill community. Silo 374-5, which was demolished May 1, is the fifth Arkansas silo to be plugged since the Corps of Engineers began the final phase of the deactivation of the silos in December. Four other silos — 371-1 near Blackwell (Conway County), 374-2 near Plumerville, 373-3 near St. Vincent (Conway County) and 374-4 near Springfield (Conway County) — already have been capped.

Tom Keith, of Conway, correctly guessed seven out of eight games to win the fifth week of the Log Cabin Democrat’s Hoops XI contest.
Keith’s only miss was the Nebraska/Baylor contest.
Keith wins the weekly prizes and will be entered in the year-end drawing for a 27-inch television courtesy of DeBoard’s Electronics.
